Firm Overview

Committed to Excellence in Every Aspect of Our photoPractice

Taking a case to court is exhausting. Many people get through the process by working toward the light at the end of the tunnel - the decision they are hoping will be in their favor. If you think the judge made an error, you may feel depleted and that your hard work was for nothing. If you won and the other side is appealing, you may feel like you are starting the fight all over again.

In either case our experienced appellate attorney, Margaret H. Leek Leiberan, will ensure that your story and the law supporting your case are presented powerfully and persuasively to the appeal courts.

At the law office of Jensen & Leiberan, we have over 60 years of experience and have handled appeals in virtually every area of the law except criminal. We have handled cases worth millions of dollars, cases in which the only issue was the ownership of cats and hundreds of other cases in between. We understand that money is not always the best measure of what a client has at stake on an appeal and we provide the same powerful and experienced representation regardless of the dollar value of your case.

Since all appeals are heard in Salem, we handle appeals including busiiness appeals, probate dispute appeals, and family law appeals, from trial courts all over the state of Oregon. Opinions of the Court of Appeals in representative cases.

Focusing on Clients and Their Cases

Some firms may treat clients as little more than legal problems or case numbers. However, we look at the big picture when we are working with our clients. We ground our legal counsel on three  main principles and are able to give clients the representation they need:

  • We are client-focused. We know that our business is serving you. When clients contact us, we take the time to listen to their concerns, and we make sure we understand every factual and legal element of their case. Because we are committed to providing service that is cost-effective and efficient, we will always give you an honest assessment of your situation and the possible outcomes of your case.
  • We are committed to professional integrity and professional excellence. Our firm is one of only two firms in Oregon that is cited in the appellate law section in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers in both 2008 and 2009. In addition, our appellate attorney — Margaret H. Leek Leiberan — is an AV-rated* attorney under Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system under which she was awarded the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards.
  • We value our experience. We rely on our extensive experience but treat each case as unique. Our attorneys have over 60 years of combined legal experience, allowing them to draw ideas from a variety of similar cases. Ms. Leiberan brings over 30 years of appellate experience and a Harvard Law education to her clients.

We are committed to helping our clients achieve their legal goals. We can help you whether you are challenging or trying to uphold a trial court's decision in a contract dispute, a business dispute, a battle between neighbors, a probate case, a personal injury case, a family law case involving custody, parenting time, support, or property division, or any other decision by a trial court. We work hard to make sure your story is heard.
